Jonathan Leijonhufvud)

As part of Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative, Home-for-All in Kensennuma was designed by Yang Zhao and his mentor Kazuo Sejima. Meanwhile, this project is the 9th finished architecture in the Home-for-All programme launched by Toyo Ito.
At the Completion Ceremony, some residents were dressed in Japan traditional costume with make-up, facing the sea and singing ancient songs with rhythms of beating paddle. Villagers nearby came here with pockets, in order to catch the rice cakes and candies sprinkled out to the sky at the end of the Ceremony, which will bring them good luck.
